47. The senior officer within the NMC would be the Departmental Head of Investigations within Fitness to Practise, and within the GMC would be the manager of the GMC London investigation team. Offences which usually the GMC/NMC will refer to the police are listed below (this is not intended to be an exhaustive list):
i. Indecent assault and rape
ii. Incidents of violence (Burns from the TCPO 2 Monitors used in unconsented research - administration of chloral hydrate and anti-histamine, unconsented research, administration of high levels of CO2 and occlusions, unconsented research )
iii. Theft, particularly cases involving a serious abuse of trust (the removal and hiding of 2,500 files containing original medical records up to Stoke on Trent in secret files marked SC, several children using an MSbP allegation!)
iv. Theft of drugs (debatable, who supplied all the drugs for the unconsented research!)
v. Other offences of dishonesty, including fraud and false certification which cannot otherwise be dealt with at a local level through employment contracts. (oooh "I head up a UNICEF project" "I am a qualified paediatrician" etc etc etc
vi. False declarations of professional qualifications to obtain employment (Hmmm just how did Southall become a consultant in the two year period in which he was only allowed to undertake "clinical physiological monitoring only"
vii. Racist or homophobic behaviour towards any person
viii. Pornographic material apparently involving children (CVS Tapes being copied onto CD ROMS and being shown to anyone!!)
And the GMC allowed Davey to do child protection again - yeh some country, some child protection system we've got any wonder children like Baby P die!
